I don’t know about you guys, but it’s hard for me to LOVE homemade brownies when box mix brownies are so good and….so easy. I’ve been playing around in the kitchen and have developed a recipe that is pretty close to that beloved box mix brownie. I tested them at room temperature and chilled. Both….amazing. They are dense but not too much and thick but not too thick. Just how I like them!
Ingredients
- 400g caster sugar
- 225g butter, melted
- 60g cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 eggs
- 225g plain flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Method
- Mix all ingredients in the order given.
- Bake at 180 C / Gas mark 4 for 20 - 25 minutes in a rectangular 23x33cm greased baking tin.
- Cool, and slice into equal square portions.
